JKUAT students warned to packed foods, over possible cholera outbreak


Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology administration has warned its students against possible cholera outbreak in the area.

R W Mumo JKUAT chief medical stuff said in an internal memo dated 29 November that several cases have been reported Kiambu County most especially Juja where the campus is situated.

With the campus having a population of more than 10,000 students, they have been urged to maintain cleanliness and report any cases suspected.

“We expect strict hand washing before handling food. The students should drink only boiled water,” mentioned Mumo in the memo on Friday.

The administration has urged the students to avoid hawked food such as chips and even juices.
