The council of governors through a press statement released on Sunday demanded Governor John Lonyangapuo’s security detail be reinstated immediately.
His detail was withdrawn earlier this week after he stormed a police roadblock and forcefully released a boda-boda rider who was arrested on traffic rules flout.
The Council of Governors chairman in a press statement warned police officers to never repeat the same action.
“The withdrawal of the Governor’s security personnel demonstrates a clear conflict between the discharge of public duties and fulfillment of personal interests, whether directly or indirectly,” read part of the statement.
It continued to state, “The Inspector-General must take action in this matter, and seek to formally communicate to the Governor and immediately replace the officers. The actions witnessed must not be repeated ever again.”
Nanok emphasized that the action was taken without any formal notice to the Governor.
Security attached to Governors home and him were withdrawn immediately after the ugly incident. Lonyangapuo who pushed aside the traffic police spikes accused them of exploiting the youth in the name of Michuki rule.
