Daniel Arap Moi Kenya’s second president on Wednesday afternoon admitted at Nairobi Hospital where he is set to undergo a routine medical check-up.
Dr. David Silverstein his personal physician stated that the retired president will spend a couple of nights in the hospital to give time the doctors to carry out their tests.
Earlier this year, he was flown to Israel for a checkup after a complication in his knee causing him discomfort. His trip to Israel according to his physician was meant to seek the cause of the knee problem.
The knee problem is said to have allegedly developed after his car was involved in a head-on collision on July 30, 2006, at Rukuma View Point Limuru. The collision involved his Range Rover and a Nissan pickup and he was hospitalized immediately.
Mzee Moi is reportedly said to have undergone a knee surgery for the first time using his real name in January 2017 at Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi. Its said that he was using fake names to avoid attracting attention.
Several leaders have been on a trip to Kabarak to check on Moi’s condition. His son, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi asked Kenyans to pray for Mzee Moi as he went out for the medical checkup.
