Sportpesa Mega Jackpot Winner Cosmas Korir who won Ksh.208million in October is planning to launch a tournament in his home in Bomet County.

He hopes by launching the tournament will give rise to a regional team and eventually play in the country’s top football league.

“There are many upcoming football teams around this area and early next year I want to host a Mashinani Cup. We are targeting 45 teams and I want to acquire uniforms and balls to provide for the boys as they prepare for the tournament,” said Cosmas korir.

Cosmas Korir aims to further the professional career of aspiring footballers from his home county which is known for tea farming with vast company-owned estates sprawling all the way to neighboring Kericho.

“I’m passionate about local football and with the good fortune that God blessed me with, I plan on using some of it to try and make a difference,” said Korir.

Korir in September joined millionaires club is the third to win the biggest football jackpot in Kenya. he correctly predicted 17 games and he won a total of  Sh208,733,619.

Apart from launching tournament and kitting participating teams, he says that he will go a step further by ensuring that it is not a football for token cash and trophy.

 “I’m planning to get a scout who can spot talent in the area and maybe help some progress and hopefully get the chance to become professionals,” stated Korir.
