Kanu Secretary General Nick Salat revealed that KANU was ready for any reconciliation meeting with DP William Ruto so as to enable the two leaders to team up together in the run-up to the 2022 elections.
Recently Kalenjin elders warned the two leaders that the community would fail to risk clinching the presidency come 2022 due to the battle between the two leaders. The elders urged the two to talk as if they both run for president they will be at risk losing.
Nick Salat who on Wednesday revealed that the elders needed to understand the root of the matter between the two leaders.
“Our chairman, who is the Baringo Senator, is ready for any peace talks with DP Ruto but the elders who have shown that they would like to mediate between the duo must understand the genesis of the rift,” said Nick Salat.
Nick Salat further insisted that for the talks to happen, the DP needed to ask for forgiveness from the Moi family.
“DP Ruto should ask for forgiveness from the family of the former president because he is the one who has been saying unpalatable things about them,” Salat reiterated.
