Hassan Joho who is currently holding office as Mombasa County Governor has accused DP William Ruto of being behind the recent accusations of him being involved in drug trafficking.

Joho revealed his accusation during a rally at Mukuru Kwa Njenga slums in Nairobi. He dared Ruto to a faceoff and urged him to stop using sidekicks to attack him.

“I cannot engage in a war of words with those people because I know they have been sent by their master Willam Ruto,” said Joho.

Nandi Governor Stephen Sang, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa and Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi had earlier accused Joho of being a drug lord. Joho didn’t hesitate and had warned them to take legal action against them on their accusation.

After the warning from Joho, Sudi still insisted that he will not apologise at all over the drug trafficking mumble.

The legislator still called the governor to call a press conference and apologize to Kenyans and the people of Mombasa for engaging in an unlawful drug trafficking business.

In November 2018, a letter emerged with Joho being listed by the international police organization listing him as a fugitive on Interpol’s radar.

Mombasa Governor had earlier wrote to Interpol according to the standard to clarify reports linking Joho to an international drug network.

“It is therefore in our client’s interest, the interests of all residents of the county of Mombasa and the nation as a whole that your office informs us on the authenticity or lack thereof of the statement,” read Joho’s request to Interpol.
