DP Rutos staff are yet to be paid their monthly allowances since August last after budget cuts that hit his office.
Member of his security detail, drivers and press team are among those yet to receive per day for the past five months. The delay of payment was caused by drastic budget cuts, with fingers pointed at Rutos critics.
DPs office budget is in the hands of statehouse controller former Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua. The last allowance paid was to the staff who traveled with DP Ruto when he visited Marsabit County on August 31, last year.
However, Ruto’s spokesman David Mugonyi refuted they were any budgetary constraints.
“Those are lies, total lies. It is not true at all,” Mugonyi mentioned when asked about the unpaid dues.
