Railroad equipment supplier L.B. Foster Company and policy technology firm FiscalNote Holdings, Inc. released mixed second-quarter 2026 earnings reports yesterday.
According to L.B. Foster's Q2 2026 presentation, the company reported net sales of $246.3 million, down 8.2% from the same period in 2025. In contrast, FiscalNote Holdings' Q2 2026 net revenue grew by 12.5% year-over-year to $33.9 million, exceeding analysts' estimates of $26.8 million.
The decline in net sales and the resultant cost of sales increase led to decreased profit margins at L.B. Foster. Meanwhile, FiscalNote Holdings' growth in net revenue and expanded offerings in policy technology led to increased confidence in their market position.
It remains to be seen whether the financial results from these two companies will have a lasting impact on their respective industries. Only time will tell whether they can maintain this momentum and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
