Deputy Presidents Chief of staff Ken Osinde is one of the latest victims to be implicated into a corruption scandal.

The corruption scandal was revealed when examination of how billions were spent in the construction of a dam. Director of Criminal Investigation revealed that Osinde was paid Ksh. 47 million by the controversial Italian firm CMC Di Ravena.

According to Daily Nation Newspaper’s top story, the confidant is listed as a director of an insurance company that reportedly received the money from the controversial firm.

Ken Osinde who is among one of the 120 directors of various firms that were part of the now failed project with the parent firm which is at the center of the Kshs 63 Billion dam scandal and has since been declared bankrupt by Italy.

The firm, CMC Di Ravena, had been contracted by Kerio Valley Development Authority in 2017 to construct Arrow and Kamwarer dams and billions sent to it as deposit by the National Treasury.

Since the revelation of the failed projects came out, DCI George Kinoti vowed to follow the insurance company associated with Osinde until the matter is resolved.

“We shall pursue the insurance company to tell us what they insured, and if they insured the project, they will have to pay Kenyans for the loss,” stated Kinoti.

Before becoming the Chief of Staff to Ruto, Osinde served as Kenyan envoy to Germany, Romani, and Bulgaria.

Other influential people mentioned in the scandal include former Attorney General Charles Njonjo, Head of Civil Service Jeremiah Kiereini and the late cabinet minister John Michuki.

Although no evidence showed that the directors were part of the syndicate, Kinoti revealed that some of them revealed that they had been asked to deliver materials unrelated to construction at yards in Eldoret and Nairobi.


Government to Launch A Mobile Loan App

The government of Kenya is making arrangements to launch its first ever Mobile loan application in April 2019.

The loan app named Y-Mobile App is a brainchild of the Youth Enterprise Development Fund and will be used to disburse its loans to Kenyans.

The Youth Fund Chairman Ronald Osumba revealed that the state corporation was seeking Ksh. 300 million from the national treasury as part f the efforts to provide more loans.

“The demand is high and it is expensive to devolve officers to county and sub-county levels. I would rather have a platform which is accessible to somebody in a remote village,” said Osumba.

The fund noted that 80 percent of the requests received were for short-term loans which could be effectively disbursed through the app.

The Y-Mobile will join the numerous mobile loan apps that are already operating in the country. In 2018, the government also announced a plan to merge affirmative action funds into one organization.

On Friday Several Jubilee leaders clash in front of Dp William Ruto during the final send-off of Mama Jeniffer Cianjagi Njuki, mother of Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki. The clash between leaders started when Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria expressed his intentions to the gathering of him joining the race for president come 2022.

“God has blessed me in many ways. We have been told that we should steer off politics, but when I look at the leaders present, I am the only one capable of carrying out my duties and still politics.

“I am here to ask for your votes as a presidential candidate. Come 2022, my name will be on the ballot box, I will disclose the party that I will use to vie,” Kuria stated as the mourners burst out in laughter.

His comments and intentions he announced during the meeting didn’t go well with other leaders.

In a quick rejoinder, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru indicated that one could easily tell the regions political inclination and who they were likely to support come 2022.

Kiambu Governor also joined the critics stating that Moses Kuria was creating confusion within the alliance.

“We don’t want the residents of Tharaka Nithi to wonder why the electorate in Kiambu is confused. I want to state that we are fully supporting the DP,” Waititu asserted.

Then came the Kikuyu MP Antony Kimani Ichung’wa who equally fired a salvo against Kuria.

Kikuyu Legislator Kimani Ishungwa also commented saying, “When the time comes, I will tour Tharaka Nithi to ask you to vote for someone as the President. My preferred candidate will neither be me nor Moses Kuria.”

Meru Governor was also not left in the heated politicking brought in by Moses Kuria.

He said, “A hen will boast across the village after laying a single egg. On the other hand, a cow will feed an entire village with milk and no one will get to hear the news. Going forward, the region will no longer vote naysayers, we will vote for people who prove to be beneficial to us. We will vote for our interests first.”

DP Ruto Is Clueless Says Murathe

David Murathe who was sacked after going against the ruling party Jubilee. Murathe who in his actions was against DP Rutos ambition of becoming President has renewed his battle.

Murathe on his facebook page criticized those calling for support of DP Rutos 2022 presidential bid.

He still exclaimed that there was no substantial reason to support Ritos bid come 2022. Murathe believe s that Ruto has nothing new to bring to the table that he has not since the inception of the Jubilee government.

His post on Facebook read;

For those people telling us to support William Ruto for president, which innovative idea is he bringing forth, that he failed to bring in Uhuruto’s regime?

Blind devotion is expensive. We cannot just wake up one day and support somebody with no ideology.

The vocal politician accused the electorate who have conditioned themselves to vote in leaders who cannot deliver their promises. He has, therefore, called upon citizens to stop supporting clueless leaders.

President Kenyatta and NASA Leader Raila Odinga will be part of the guest during the opening of the 2019 Devolution conference which will be hosted by Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru. The conference will take place between March 4th to 8th 2019.

The theme of this year’s devolution conference will be “Deliver, Transform, Measure, Remaining Accountable,” and will take place at Kirinyaga University, Kirinyaga County.

The council of governors on the twitter account announced that President Kenyatta will officially open the conference while his counterpart  Raila Odinga will be the chief guest.

This comes a few days after the duo,  together with other leaders visited Kisii County on Wednesday 20th on an official tour to launch various projects.
